Location sharing

This feature allows users to share their real-time location with other users within the ActivePager system. This guide shows you how to enable and configure location sharing and how to manage visibility and duration settings.

Enabling location sharing

To enable the location sharing feature in ActivePager, follow these steps:

  1. Open the ActivePager app on your mobile device.
  2. Log in with your credentials.
  3. Once inside the app, tap the “Location Sharing” icon or option (it may vary depending on the app version).

Configuring visibility settings

After enabling location sharing, you can configure visibility settings to decide who can see your location. You can choose from the following options:

  • Organization members: Your location will be visible only to members of your organization.
  • Operations room members: Your location will be visible to members of your operations room and the related organizations.
  • Public: Your location will be visible to all users in the ActivePager system.

To configure these settings:

  1. Tap the “Visibility Settings” option within the ActivePager app.
  2. Select one of the visibility options listed above.

Setting the sharing duration

You can also set the duration of location sharing. You can choose from the following options:

  • 1 hour
  • 3 hours
  • 8 hours

To set the sharing duration:

  1. Tap the “Sharing Duration” option within the ActivePager app.
  2. Select the desired duration from the available options.

Managing location sharing

Once the visibility and duration settings are configured, your location will be shared with the selected audience for the chosen period. You can also stop sharing your location at any time by following these steps:

  1. Return to the main screen of the ActivePager app.
  2. Tap the “Stop Location Sharing” option or similar.

Privacy and security notes

  • Remember that your location is visible only in real time during the selected sharing period.
  • Location data is not recorded or stored in the ActivePager system.
  • Make sure you share your location only with authorized users and set visibility settings appropriately.
