The "Missing Persons Location" feature in ActivePager allows operators to quickly locate missing persons by sending an SMS containing an interactive link. This feature is available only as an additional module of the system and must be activated separately.
Accessing the feature
The section is reachable from the main menu under:
Operations → Missing persons location
Access is reserved exclusively for administrators and users with the alert management permission.
Starting a location request
To start a new location request:
- Click the "Add" button.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Name: enter the name of the person to locate.
- Phone: enter the phone number including international prefix (e.g., +39).
- Language: select the language of the SMS that will be sent.
- Notes: any additional information.
- Click "Add" again to confirm.
The system will automatically send an SMS in the selected language to the person to locate. The SMS contains a direct link.
Receiving and sending coordinates
By clicking the link received via SMS, the user automatically opens a simplified web page, where one click is enough to send the device’s GPS coordinates to the ActivePager system.
Automatic status management
The system automatically updates the location status based on actions performed:
- SMS sent: initial status at creation.
- Response received: when the user clicks the link and sends the coordinates.
Viewing the location
Once the response is received, the operator can:
- View the received coordinates directly.
- Check the position on the integrated map.
- Verify accuracy and the date the coordinates were received.
Closing and archiving
Once the location activity is completed:
- Click "Close" to complete the operation.
- The record moves to the "Archive" section for future reference.
The history of performed actions is available in detail for each record.
