The Shift Template feature lets you create predefined models to simplify and speed up planning of future shifts. Templates can include standard information, participation rules, and specific roles. This structure allows you to create complete and customized templates, optimizing shift management for operational teams. Templates are ideal for recurring shifts or standardized configurations.
General data
In this section you define the basic information for the template:
- Name (required): the name of the template (e.g., “Day shift”).
- Location: specifies the geographic location associated with the shift (optional).
- Assigned vehicle: allows you to select a specific vehicle to associate with the template.
- Start time and End time: define the standard shift hours.
- Notes: free field to add additional information or instructions related to the shift.
Shift settings
Options to configure template behavior:

Allow users to enroll in the shift:
- Yes: allows users to self-register for shifts created with this template.
- No: administrators must assign users manually.

Partial sign-ups/changes:
- Yes: allows the shift to be split among multiple users.
- No: each user must cover the entire shift.

Users have specific roles:
- Yes: allows assigning specific roles to users (e.g., driver, medic, etc.).
- No: no role distinction is provided.

Additional users beyond defined roles: allows adding other users if needed, beyond predefined roles.
Shift roles
This section lets you configure the specific roles required for the shift:

Name: indicates the role (e.g., “Driver”, “Responder”).

Required:
- Yes: the role must be assigned to complete the shift.
- No: the role is optional.

Filters:
- Operational status: lets you filter users based on specific criteria, such as operational level.
- Tags: lets you select users based on specific tags.
- Rank: lets you select users based on their rank.
- License: lets you select users based on their driving license.

You can add multiple roles by clicking Add Role.
