Documentation for the ActivePager Selective Alerts feature
Welcome to the documentation for the ActivePager Selective Alerts feature. This powerful feature lets you send priority alert notifications to responders using the ActivePager app. Priority notifications are designed to immediately capture users' attention, even if their phone is in silent or "do not disturb" mode. In this documentation, we will explore how to use this feature to manage emergencies effectively and in a coordinated way.
Sending a selective notification
To send a selective notification through ActivePager, follow these steps:
- Open the ActivePager app: Access the ActivePager application on your mobile device or use the web portal if available.
- Select "Selective Notification": Navigate through the main menu and select the "Selective Notification" option.
- Specify the reason and location: Enter the reason for the incident and the location where responders are needed. This information is essential for a fast and effective response.
- Send the notification: Press the "Send" button to transmit the selective notification to recipients.
Priority notifications
ActivePager selective notifications are priority notifications, which means they will ring even if the phone is set to silent or "do not disturb" mode. This ensures users receive the alert immediately, guaranteeing a timely emergency response.
Automatic integrations with other software
ActivePager offers flexibility to integrate with other software via APIs. This means you can automate the sending of selective notifications from other applications or systems, improving efficiency and timeliness in emergency management.
Sending SMS
In addition to sending notifications through the app, you can configure ActivePager to also send SMS along with the selective notification. This can be useful to reach responders through a different channel or as an additional notification layer.
User response
Users who receive a selective notification can respond with "yes" or "no" directly from the ActivePager app. If they respond "yes", the system will automatically calculate their return time to the station using the device's GPS position. This is useful for planning the response and mobilizing responders efficiently.
Selecting the caller number
If the caller number has been provided, it will be selectable directly from the ActivePager app, simplifying identification and contact.
ActivePager offers a complete and flexible solution for managing selective alerts in emergency situations. This documentation provides an overview of the main features, but we recommend consulting additional resources and guides to fully leverage the potential of this tool within your organization.
