View the map

This feature lets you view and interact with a map based on a proprietary map server. The map is shared between the website and the mobile application and offers real-time information on a variety of points of interest, including rescue agency locations, hydrants, defibrillators (AEDs), and other relevant data. This documentation will guide you through the different features and operations available on the map.

Accessing the map

To access the map feature in ActivePager, follow these steps:

  • Sign in to the ActivePager software using your credentials.
  • Once logged in, look for and select the "Map" or "View Map" option from the main menu.

Viewing the map

Once in the map section, you will see the interactive map with different viewing options. You can:

  • Zoom: Use the zoom buttons or mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
  • Pan: Drag the map to move in different directions.
  • Map type: Switch between street, satellite, or topographic maps based on your needs.

Search and filters

To simplify the display of map data, ActivePager provides search and filter tools:

  • Search: Use the search bar to find specific places, addresses, or points of interest.
  • Filters: Apply filters to show only the desired categories of points of interest (e.g., rescue agencies, hydrants, AEDs).

Points of interest

The map includes various points of interest that represent different categories of data. These can include:

  • Rescue agency locations: markers that indicate the location of local rescue agencies.
  • Hydrants: markers that indicate the location of hydrants in the area.
  • Defibrillators (AEDs): markers that indicate the location of defibrillators in the area.
  • Other data: other points of interest or relevant information.

Interacting with points

You can interact with points of interest on the map:

  • Click a point: click a point to get further details or specific information.
  • Navigate to a point: click a point to center the map on that location.
  • Routing: if supported, you can calculate a route from your location to a point of interest.

Sharing real-time data

The map feature in ActivePager provides access to real-time data, which means map information can be constantly updated. To ensure you always see the most recent data, follow these tips:

  • Automatic refresh: if available, enable the automatic refresh option to continuously receive real-time data.
  • Manual refresh: you can manually refresh the map to get the latest information, usually via a refresh button.
