The Shifts section of ActivePager lets you manage shifts, monitor user participation, and view the status of scheduled shifts. It is designed to simplify organization and coordination of operational teams.
Main interface
The shifts screen includes:
- Displayed period: shown at the top (e.g., “November 2025”).
- Search filters:
- User: view shifts related to a specific operator.
- Status: filter shifts by their status (e.g., “New”, “Complete”, “Empty”).
- Template: select shifts based on predefined templates.
- Vehicle: filter by associated vehicles.
- Publication: manage the visibility of published or draft shifts.
- Filter and Reset buttons: apply or clear the selected filters.
- Current month button: quickly return to the current month.
- Add button: create a new shift manually.
Shift list
The list shows shifts scheduled for the selected month, each with:
- Shift name: clickable to access details (e.g., “Shift A”).
- Date: shown in the header (e.g., “Sunday 02 November 2025”).
- Shift duration: start and end time (e.g., “Friday 31 October - 20:00 - Monday 03 November - 06:00”).
- Shift status: indicated with a colored label, including:
- Complete
- Empty
- Draft
- Sufficient
- Insufficient
- Participation: view or manage who is assigned to the shift.
- Selection checkbox: useful for bulk actions.
Bulk actions
When one or more shifts are selected using the side checkbox, a set of bulk actions becomes available in the top bar:
- Request change: request a shift swap for all selected shifts.
- Publish: make selected shifts public and visible to assigned users.
- Set draft: return selected shifts to draft status, making them not visible to users.
- Add user: assign one or more users at the same time to selected shifts.
- Remove user: remove users from selected shifts.
- Delete: permanently delete selected shifts from the system (irreversible action).
⚠️ Bulk actions are active only when at least one shift is selected. You can select all visible shifts using the header checkbox.
Advanced options menu
In the menu to the right of the “Add” button there are two additional functions:
Export ⬇️
Allows you to download an Excel file containing all shifts visible in the current view.
Typical uses:
- Creating reports for internal use or archiving.
- Analyzing shift data with external tools.
- Sharing data with other platforms.
Import ⬆️
Allows you to upload preconfigured shifts via a file.
Benefits:
- Fast insertion of multiple shifts without repetitive manual operations.
- Importing from other systems or structured Excel sheets.
Import file requirements:
- Must follow a predefined structure (available in the import dialog).
- Data must be correctly formatted to avoid upload errors.
Shift details
Clicking on a shift name opens a detailed screen containing:
- List of participants and their status.
- Information about the vehicle, schedules, and notes.
- Ability to edit assignments, add users, or update the shift.
